Groups

We are a group of people who are living with Fibromyalgia and other chronic pain conditions who meet regularly to support each other. We meet on the third Monday every month plus for coffee in Nuffield Health (Weston) on Thursday mornings. Meetings are a mix of speakers, chat and information. We have a weekly hydrotherapy group and organize trips and meals out plus interest groups as required.

Do you love to sing? Do you want to make new friends and have exciting performance opportunities? Then why not join The People’s Show Choir? We are a community choir singing songs from film, theatre and TV, with a bit of pop music for good measure. No auditions, no need to read music, no previous experience required, just you and your love of singing.

A new yoga class at the Hughenden Centre, 25 Hughenden Road, (off Milton Road) BS23 2UR. Gentle, mindful yoga with a focus on breath and body alignment, the class is suitable for beginners and also the more experienced. Sessions run from 10:30am – 11:45am on Wednesday mornings.

There are lots of useful tips and advise on how to start your Family Tree and how to progress with your research. On our website we have most of the Parish records for N.Somerset and Milton Road Cemetery information available to members.

A badminton club for adults of a good standard, not beginners, but equally, not competitive club players. Tuesday evenings 8:15pm – 9:45pm at Broadoak School, Devonshire Road. No uniform, but a friendly club who would welcome some new players.

North Somerset Modelling Society holds its meetings at the ‘Ebdon Arms’, Lilac Way, Wick St. Lawrence, Weston-super-Mare, BS22 9WE, from 7:30pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.  It also holds an all day ‘model-in’ (no entry fee to pay) at The Helicopter Museum one Sunday each month, usually the fourth Sunday. All modellers are welcome to either meeting, regardless of age or experience.

FOLLOW ON – Carers Caring For Carers.

We are a group of Carers who meet fortnightly at The Coach House, Locking BS24 8DG.

Making new friends and socialising is sometimes difficult when you have been caring for a loved one and you think the walls are closing in and nobody cares or understands how you feel. A warm welcome awaits.

ParkPlay is 90 minutes of free community play, every Saturday, for everyone. Make friends, have fun, get moving!

Have you thought about singing in a choir? The Rainbow Singers are a lovely group of people who sing on a Friday morning in St. Peter’s Church Hall from 10:15am – 11:45am. All are welcome. We mainly sing songs from the shows and the old classic pops. Feel free to come and join us and try us out. Singing has great health benefits.
